Congratulations on joining the Onewheel community. You have made a fine choice.
Just ease into it, no heroics, the skill set will improve with time on the board.
I started riding at 68 years of age, and am currently 70. I ride every day, and enjoy every mile.

I tried a goat a few weeks ago but that GT also had the latest firmware so I was always trying to figure which I was feeling at play when off road. I'm still rocking the OG GT treaded so I'm not super fussed on the hard edges. I'm definitely a bit of a fringe rider with my preferences 😅

Defo will try to if we do Opensauce next year. Big IF because I'm not sure yet if we're going. Wish we had planned to stay longer this year but tbh we didn't think we'd be up to much like the time before. Sacramento will be on the todo list and we'll give you a heads up if we're in the area 🥰

@jordan5100 -- Hi. Simple things first: My guess is you've already ruled out fender rubs or nubs under the fender; made sure the bolts holding the wheel to the rails are torqued evenly each/both sides; and checked for tyre irregularities.

Personally, not being sure of myself opening up the motor, if it was mine I'd probably trade out the whole motor for another. If you are adventuresome -- you could part the stator and hub, and you could probably find a stator (or hub) to remedy the problem. Or, once open, the source of the noise might then be clear, and a solution will work its way into your head (and hands).

Again, though, I'm more of a Onewheel rider than a technician of Onewheel insides, and to me, to minimize board down time I'd swap out motors for one kept in my reserve jumble of parts for just this kind of situation.

Assuming U17 on the controller side is broken then an Owie chip won't change anything sadly.

If you need someone to take a look at this Justin over at https://www.fixmypev.com/ has dealt with some of these in the past and offers repair so in the worst case he should be able to perform a repair.

@lia I need to take a look at the GT custom shapings to be fair as the single zone allows you to still heal lift I did not know until I watched the shaping vid

@lia I totally understand! No worries about the address. I wouldn’t mind meeting up at a restaurant or coffee shop near your place, or I could even leave the board with you if that works better. Maybe we could chat somewhere privately, like Messenger or something, to sort out the details. And of course, I understand there’ll be a cost for the repair.

Idk. It is priced at what the PintX was so technically still better for the money but I'd still want those little QOL bumps for an S series.

Also that screen snippy you posted shows that bumper edge they mentioned which I couldn't spot on my first viewing. Pretty big so maybe that is for the rail guards like they suggested.

Quick follow up with about 150 miles on the ThunderCat. I would say the noise level is about half what it was when new. On some surfaces you can barely hear it, but the hum is still there and definitely keeps me informed in real time as to my approximate speed. Overall, loving this tire, great grip both on and off pavement. :D
