      54 down, 36 to go!

If I do another set I'm finding a way to get the packaging pre made so I can just assemble it πŸ˜“ I have spent so many hours scoring, sanding, cutting, gluing, spray painting and assembling. I still have yet to do the final sanity check and repeat test them all before taking orders.

Woe is meeeeee. My desire for pretty packaging has been my undoing!

Nate Fordged has done a quick video showing off BadgerSense Ft. Matt from TireSire.
Kinda like how compact the little HUD unit is.

Fixed the hot point. As i was expecting, that issue had no relation with the no-power issue. I measured V on the big mosfets next to the batt connectors. There is no V. However, i have V on the other smaller ones. I’m thinking that maybe they are not receiving anything on the gate terminal. I followed the gate track and looks like that are going to those sOT-23 thingies which i guess are transistors. Looks like those are OK but i do not know who is sending the triggering/gate signal. Do you guys have any guess/recommendation?

@biell I understand. It sucks to make compromises sometimes. I got fed up with that hence mostly ride vesc now. Except when wet/rain, then i grab the over-badgered XR. But also working on getting the vesc winterproof which possibly will make FM totally obsolete.

Just make sure you keep an eye on that capacitor closest to the handle. Also make some testrides now and monitor/screenshot the controller temperatures.
After the mod make the same rides again under similar circumstances and compare the temperatures to see if there's significant (5+ degC) difference. Thicker thermal pads reduce transfer dramatically. I wish you all the luck and hope this will make your board ride amazing again!

@lemur Oh it's different on that one. I thought you meant it was just balancing slow.
That is very weird. I wonder if there is a corroded link on that BMS or a failing resistor that's creating a larger voltage drop by the time it gets to the bit that reads the voltages.

When I made my battery pack from spring loaded contacts the first time (and then gave up and welded them) the voltage drop was insane. Might be something similar be it contact resistance on the port or some biffed trace/ component.

@onedangts said in GTS First Ride:

It may quiet down as the tire wears, but it's not too loud as to be annoying.

Quick follow up with about 150 miles on the ThunderCat. I would say the noise level is about half what it was when new. On some surfaces you can barely hear it, but the hum is still there and definitely keeps me informed in real time as to my approximate speed. Overall, loving this tire, great grip both on and off pavement. :D

@LOAFFETTE Sorry for your experience! I know I'm bad at creating new topics instead of bumping the old ones. If the forum ever has one alike.

But on that particular case I thought the thrill about video ~3 years back adds some context to it. Because its "FM x TFL" discussion point. Interestingly enough Bodhy have swiched sides in meanwhile. Yet we still haven't seen Tech-Rails, Craft&Ride, Land-Surf and many other 3rd parties even slightly featured in FM's social media as TFL now has repeatedly been.

@maciak The clearance is close, The wheel is moved over to one side by 1/8" due to hub differences. The stock tire is very close to the footpads too.

@onesweedwheel By chance do you know anyone with a GT you could swap motors with and see if the fault follows the motor or the rest of the board?

Starting to wonder if something is up in the controller :(
