This might sound kind of dumb, but I just wanted to see what y'all had to say.

I recently bought a broken onewheel XR with controller issues, so I ordered a replacement controller and slapped it in, but now the board is acting weird and not turning on.

I realize they look different but I kind of assumed that if they are both meant for the XR that it shouuuuld work fine but I am now seeing that is not true. I was hoping if anyone here has any experience with these controllers if theres any way to get it to work for my board or any comment really

@lemur Yeah you might be right that looks just like the replacement. Once I get back home I'll open it back up and check -- maybe I can get a refund if it turns out to be the wrong controller 😅

I am making this post to see if anyone knows the model for the IMU on older onewheel XRs.

I've been working with a graduate student here at my university and we've managed to get the IMU off of the controller however it appears that the chip model I was recommended (LSM330DLCTR) is for a different revision of my board. For reference, this onewheel was purchased in 2021, and I have attached a dropbox with some photos of the IMU as well as what we think the chip could be.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

@lia Yeah I am pretty sure it's an XR, it has the XR rails and says it is an XR in the app. The guy I bought it from also had never opened it before, all factory stickers were intact.

But thank you for your insight, I will go ahead and order that chip and let you know how it all goes!
