@ed_co Best option for a lower price would be to just split out the cables into the 3 high current phases and the individual hall/temp wires to dedicated ports like the V1/Plus/XR.
@swinefeasterWow! Third set of bearings. I ride pavement and trails mostly and I haven't done big drops, just curbs . I will going for bigger drops and get some feedback.
@NotSure omg, right? i'm gonna take it out for a ride today, and i'm going to live in fear of rolling it every moment.
@b0ardski i love the idea of matching rails! i picked this color because at certain angles it takes on a greenish tint like the sage rails i have, so it still works in my mind, but rails that changed color like that, hmmmm..... so tempting!
@lemur I remember to update the firmware of my XR via OTA, so it doesn't make any sense to me.
Having the hardware, have you tried to dump it in a similar way of the BMS?
Go annoy the shit out of Adoah on the OW discord, he's pretty responsive there, along with datboig, they're both pretty involved with the coding for OWIE. Also Adoah's fork of it has quite a few things worked in like locking the board too.
Unlike the OW mods, he's somewhat knowledgeable/competent for some specific OW things.
@ed_co yup i saw that video. id like to travel and onewheel while there. i just don't see many rental outfitters in tourist areas investing a lot into onewheels for the rental opportunity. its a niche pursuit for sure. perhaps national outfitters that lease them to local rental outfits?? thats an interesting notion but the obvious alternative is bringing a ow with you.
i have always thought the Pint would have been a wild success if it was the first or only onewheel to accept extensible charge options. a vnr friendly onewheel of sorts. it goes slower, its smaller, it has a stock range of 4-5 miles. it can't really compete with the other models, but its FAA TSA approved for the travel industry, and bc the range is extensible, it effectively has unlimited range... it fucking markets itself imo! everyone would have one! but what do i know, right? i didnt go to stanford.
@angusofstockholm -- I used to use Microsoft Access database quite a bit a few years ago. I am going to have to look at the link you offer -- because I much prefer databases to spreadsheets!
Welp, my conclusion. It’s a whole different riding experience. It’s what I expected the XR to be in the first place, having come from the OG Pint. It now has a solid, responsive, confident power that it lacked before, with the option to dial it back from there if desired.
Having seen the GT reviews now, riding a Badgered VnR’d XR seems exactly right for me. Big deck, good speed, long range, generous power, mellow pushback.
