Gen 1 suspension board revisited
-
On my gen1 suspension which is Xr controller based, I had a strange buzzing on "delirium" mode while moving almost like harmonics, but quiet on "mission''.
I thought it was the brass swingarm bushings and I changed the brass for delrin plastic bushings and the harmonics are still there .
Since the motor is no longer used as a cross member to tie the rails together, the rails are only tied together with the plastic controller and battery box, which results in a weak chassis, torsionally.
I also used a Kush front footpad which is very flexible.
The solution turned out to be a .125" aluminum plate to tie the rails together with 4 extra 10-32 screws to stiffen up the rails, all buzzing is gone on "delirium" , my gen 2 had no harmonics as it uses Bash bumpers which have extra brackets that stiffen up the rails.
Now I can incorporate plates for the front and back in my present models and in the next design which may be dual shock for "clydesdale" (heavier) riders.
