Discharging a battery for storage

I posted this way back in the old forum . I use this method to discharge spare batteries for shipment or storage.
The 110v 100 watt incandescent bulb gets hot so rest it on a non flammable surface or change the plug on a desk lamp to an xt60.
Don't discharge under 3v per cell, although there are many opinions out there.
I'm not sure how Euro 220v bulbs will work though.
